I worked in a team on this Shovel Knight fangame, starting production in September 2021 and releasing in March 2022. I worked as a programmer, responsible for managing our code repository, implementing all dialogue trees and creating test builds for the team. This game was my first introduction to Ren'Py, a Python game engine specialised for making visual novel games.
This project was developed as part of a community ARG event for the DiscOrder of No Quarter. Solving the ARG gave people access to the game as a big final reward. The reception was very positive! People loved the in-jokes and references in the game, and Yacht Club Games thought it was very impressive!
I took part in a live Q&A event along with other members of my team for people to ask questions about the project. It was wonderful to hear the feedback and comments first-hand!
