When thinking of ideas for Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon mods, this was the first idea I had. It came to me on a whim, and was quite fun to work on, because there are many overlaps between Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (TBOI:R), such as the use of keys, bombs, items, RNG elements, secret siderooms, bosses and more. It made it easy to generate ideas, but also a fun challenge to reimagine certain elements from TBOI:R in a way that works for Pocket Dungeon's gameplay, such as Isaac's ability to shoot tears.Â
Making this mod helped me find and report many bugs with the official modding tools for Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and by exploring and learning these tools, I have been able to help other developers in making their mods, which has made a positive impact on the Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon modding experience.
